How do Spanish migrants who are registered in the Netherlands fare in the initial period after migration? This study looks among other things at their position on the labour market, their command of Dutch and their social contacts. It also explores whether they plan to remain in the Netherlands long-term or envisage only a temporary stay. This publication draws on information from a survey of Spanish migrants which was carried out within 18 months of them being entered in the Dutch population register and repeated 18 months later.
